Oct 1st= Yeah--had a great nights sleep on a very comfy bed. Thank you so much Pam!! Pam came over (to her house) and 1st thing--we tried to get that damn inverted fixed. By the way-after leaving Big Bend it started working again--but I still wanted to get it fixed to use the laptop, coffee maker etc. An "Audio Express" was right near her house-so off we went. By the way--they do a booming business--i've never seen so many "pimp my ride" trucks and cars in a city in all my life. Well we didn't have ANY luck at the audio place...it's amazing to me that they can make a car raise 2 feet from it's frame and down again and have a sound system suitable for a large coliseum and hook up surround sound with HDTV in these vehicles but no one seems to get this damn inverter to work as it should. I have given up.
Couldn't believe the temp--we were just in the desert yesterday with almost 100 degrees and here in Santa Fe it's a cool 74. Pam took us to Bandalier National Park. She warned us about the high altitude and the hike up to the ceremonial ruins. I wanted to see it--even though the warning suggested i don't proceed. I have a fear of heights and health problems. OH well--on we went. I have to admit--going DOWN is much worse than going up. Today my legs and arms ache--from being scared and clenching so tightly to the ladder when going down. But it was worth it !! It was neat seeing some petroglyphs in the side on the mtn.Drinking a couple of margaritas with dinner at the "Cowboy Girl" cafe was wonderful. Walked around downtown Santa Fe and then turned in--relatively early.
