First of all--my sidekick Laura wants me to make a formal apology. #1 for the recent "boring" posts and as she says "you need to have truth in reporting". Unfortunately-she read all the posts last night. Wow- talk about hopping mad. Pam can attest to a side of her that ....well let's just say that I should end this conversation--she'll probably read this sometime soon.
She wants me to make it clear that "perhaps" i have painted an incorrect portrait of what happened with the hispanic boys. She said that she's afraid to speak to me the rest of the trip--fear in what might be printed.
Oh--this should make for a wonderful ride.
ok back to our day on sunday. We went down to Albuquerque for the BIG Balloon Fiesta. It's the largest in the US (maybe even the world????).... By the way--I decided the other day to learn spanish and i'm making some huge progress. I don't like to show off--so i'll keep the post in english for now. At first-walking around the hot air balloon grounds was pretty umm...what's the word? Oh---B-O-R-I-N-G--that's it. But soon we were all into the spectacular sights. Seeing all of those hot air balloons being inflated at dusk--they did an "all glow" and all of them (hundreds of ballons) fire up at the same time....pretty cool. We met up with Laura Lee Hamilton--an old friend from Charleston. She's still a wild party girl-the last time I "partied" with her (in Austin TX 2 yrs ago) she ended up...let's just say her night ended at the emergency room. Not good-badly broken nose. So-we are having a grand time at the fiesta when Laura Lee up and runs over to this good looking guy. I figured she knew him. Nope--she just has some kind of radar....beep beep beep--good looking man---beep beep beep. Well, as most of us know--a good looking man usually means what? Yep--he's gay! She's funny--she just flat out asked him. He and his buddies (there were 4 --2 gay-2 straight) well they were a great group of guys and we ended up spending the rest of the fiesta with them and then continued the night at some pub downtown Albuquerque. I'll try and include a group photo--next blog.
One of them-John-has 2 pet monkeys at home--but due to some "drama" at the table-end of the night--we missed going to the house to see them. Damn--I wanted to see those monkeys!!
