Pam, Laura and I drove up to Taos, NM. Now this is a great sky town. If only I skied. We did enjoy walking about and seeing all of the shops. We took a drive up to the sky lift--thought we'd be able to take it to the top and then hike down. Unlucky -us--they closed it the weekend before. They need to do repairs etc to get ready for the sky season. On the way back to town, we saw a woman hitchhiker. Now-you know I'm all for helping a sister out-so I talked Pam and Laura into giving her a lift. I figured..why not? There are 3 of us and only 1 of her--what could she do? Well-Pam picked up her first hitchhiker. I think she's still regreting it. Hitchhiker Phyllis-or as we called her-Filthy Phyllis had such a stank odor!!!! After we dumped her off-we had to ride with all the windows down for about an hour. "PEEEEE UUUUU" Off to the Gorge we went. The bridge spanning the gorge had a walk path--and it was pretty scary walking-especially if you looked down. You could still see the remains of a white car--a succesful suicide! Pam told me that "Thelma and Louise" was filmed there--you know the part...great ending. I don't know if I believe her--call me "doubting tom-boy".
